Hi.

Nero Version: 6.6.0.8
You should update your Nero version to 6.6.0.18, not the latest but without a doubt the most stable. Get it here:

http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-800A> Version: KY01 - HA 2 TA 0 - 6.6.0.8
Your firmware is way out of date, latest version is KY06. Get it here:

Your memory is a bit low, try to free up some memory, have nothing working in the background. We normally recomend a minimum of 512Mb for this hobby...

You're burning a bit too close to the outter edge of the disc. Try to keep it within 4300Mb, you can use Nero own Recode or Shrink.

Ok. This is a dodgy one. You could have bad stuff there(Fujifilm, Prodisc, Smartbuy...) but Maxell use this code as well on some Corean(?) made discs... I would recomend Verbatim or Sony stuff. Or Maxell as long as they are 'Made in Japan'.

You're burning a bit too fast. We recommend not to burn faster than 4x, untill you're fully confident that you won't get any possible errors.

That's another Gb. You don't really need this.

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
Now, this means your burner can't recognize the media. This is normally related to the firmware. Or bad media... ;)

If it ain't broken it doesn't need fixing...

Why doesn't the DVD show up under Scsi-Device Map? Where do you think you have the device connected?

I have been using Maxwell dvds for the past 6 months and they have been working fine. This has been going on randomly for the past couple of weeks. Could this be something that is on the newer dvds?

If members suggest changing your discs then it is for a reason. Some of the lower quality discs are inconsistent in their production and every spindle is different so therefore what works well today may NOT work tomorrow, whereas good quality discs such as Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony (made in japan) do NOT give you these problems.

Implement the suggestions made by permiggs and I am confident your problem will be solved.
