What's gone wrong?

I've finally got round to backing up my games onto discs, but whenever I try to play them they takes ages to load and stutter, the audio and the video freeze independently, what am I doing wrong?
Here's what I do -
>Open DVD Decrypter
>Mode/ISO/Read
>Decrypt
Two things are saved to my desktop now - DVDIMAGE (MDS FILE) and DVDIMAGE (WinRAR):S When I open the WinRAR one though, it says DVDIMAGE.ISO. Back to DVD Decrypter -

>Mode/ISO/Write
>Speed = 1x
>Write
It then proceeds to write to the disc. When it's finally done, I put it in my ps2 but no, it takes around 10 minutes to load from my Swap Magic, and then does all of the things I mentioned earlier, making the game impossible to play.
I'm using Verbatim DVDs and a quite old version of the Swap Magic flip-top lid. The game I'm trying to back up isn't scratched in any way, shape or form.

Anyone care to shed some light on the problem?

1.Why are u opening the image made with Decryper with WinRAR, that is not necessary.
2.Burn at 4x, 1x can cause problems.
3.Burn the mds file it Decrypter, it instructs Decrypter on how to properly burn the image

Still won't work :(
Could it be my version of Swap Magic? (2.0)
Although, saying that my backup copy of Mercenaries works...

Try this link, it will tell u what game need fixes, and they have the fixes availabe to downlaod if u need one. Ya, SM 2.0 is not comaptible with all games, so check out this link.

Unassociate the .iso file format with WinRAR, and it'll stop showing as a WinRAR type file. If you don't then it'll cause you more problems in the future.

Mercenaries is a big game, and will cause long load times with crap media, or by just using Swap Magic on its own. You need to use CogSwapLoader & a high TOC refresh as an extra swap to load this game without problems.

Mercenaries needs to be rebuilt
There is a patch out there that will do it for you. It will not work right if you do not rebuil/patch it
Verbatim DVD's should work just fine
search the game name here in the forums and you will find quite a few posts on Mercenaries and what others did to get it working.
