Im currently useing nero 6 and i used nero vision express to burn some avi files ( 2 of them of size 300mb each ) so taht it would work with dvd player and beacuse with NVE u can creat menu's etc etc, but when it had completed i played it back and the audio was out of sync! and it kept getting worse, while the original avi files worked perfectly in windows media player!! if anyone knows wats wrong please help it is kind of urgent
Can you check the original files and see what frame per second (fps)they were encoded with. Use Nero Recode, or hold the mouse over the video in the editing resource window in NeroVision
My theory is that when you encode a non-standard frame rate video at 29.97 fps (or 25) for DVD, the audio stays the same and the video actually moves faster because of the faster frame rate. I will have to do some experimenting, but until I get back, you might try to export the video first to get it into DVD ready status and then put it back in NVE to see if the audio is correct. If it is, go ahead and burn, or practice burn to see if it stays that way.
It is a little strange an .avi file would not be at 29.97 fps already. I know many .mp4 files are all over the place, but .avi are normally standard.

I just exported and .mp4 at 12 fps and it seemed to work OK. Possibly the fact a .avi file is involved, or maybe how it was handled or encoded might effect how it recodes into an .mpg. Maybe a certain utility is causing these type problems. You might check the thread and other items in that forum.
