Is it worth just re-building the game anyway, to be on the safe side?

How do you know if a game has to be re-built?

As one would obviously waste a few DVD's through trial and error whilst trying to make back-ups, and trying to work out if they require re-building.

Cheers

First, what kind of mod are u using in ur ps2. Some chips dont requiring any rebuilding, but if ur using Swap Magic like me, all DVD-9 games must be rebuilt, as well with any games with a TOC over 4.35 gigs.

There is no point to rebuild a game if u dont have to, cause it can be a pain in the arse and a waste of time. Check out this link to c some common games that require rebuilding when using Swap Magic:)

I'm using Swap Magic 3.6, mate.

So basically if the game is over 4.35GB I need to rebuild it, and the same goes for if it is DVD-9.

If a game is exactly 4.35 GB, does it need to be re-built?

Cheers for that link mate. :) Does the same stuff apply for a PAL or UK game as it does for a US game?

Can US games also be played on Swap Magic? As I am in the UK.

Sorry for all the questions!

Cheers

Yes, all game apply to that TOC rule. And yes, u can play both NTSC and PAL games with SM, just change the setting when u boot SM. Did a search, found another link with TOC sizes. Will try to find more PAL TOCs in a bit:) If it exactly 4.35, u should b find do an exact copy with no rebuilding.

EDIT - Heres another linl, looks like includes more PAL TOCs:)
