Hey everyone. Just wanted to get some advice on giving my machine a boost to be able to run some of the more recent games. I'll try to run down what I have now:
-Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 7VT600-RZ x.x
-Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
-1.30 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
-NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Obviously, it's not up to par yet, but any suggestions would be helpful before I consider what I'm going to buy.

Are you looking for a completely new system, and if so how much is your max budget?

I'm aiming for just a new video card, possibly more ram if needed. I believe my mobo uses an agp slot. My budget is somewhere between $100-$200 for now.

For that money you're probably looking at a 6600GT card and maybe 1GB of RAM.
You could probably find a card of that spec or higher on eBay for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the orginal price.
That board will oberclock very slightly as well.
You should be able to get the FSB up to 210, any higher and it looks as though the AGP timings suffer and cause it to crash.
There is no AGP timing setting in the BIOS to change.
This at least will give an extra 5% CPU perfromance, and the RAM will be upped from 400 to 420.
