I am trying to convert avi to dvd and burn to dvd.
No matter what program I start, when the box comes up to select the file for conversion, I don't even get a chance to pick it before the box disappears, and the program closes. This is happening with vcdgear, cucusoft and super dvd creator, and possibly others.

Does any one have any ideas? Could it be some type of virus? I have scanned but no results

never heard of that! Try ConvertXtoDVD by VSO:

about the disappearing box...... try to do a registry clean up and reboot your computer..... then see if your programs work properly! or you can uninstall, clean registry, reboot, then reinstall the program and see if it works properly! virus? who knows .... maybe just some settings got screwed up. I find that a reboot sometimes will correct the anomalies and make things work properly. good luck.

Thanks for replying IHoe.

I will try this program, however I'm not sure that is the problem (but who knows?).
I don't know how to do a registry clean up. I do have a program that I have never been game to use "regscrubxpsetup_3.2.exe" Do you know anything about it? Would it be suitable?
Unicstalling the program might be difficult because it seems to be happening on 3 (at least) programs.
I have already tried the reboot.

I have RegSupreme Pro which does a great job. I also have System Mechanic Professional 6 which keeps my machine up and running like new 24-7! good luck!
