Flashing the DS Lite

Ive heard that if you flash the DS Lite it stops you from being able to change the screen bightness. I was wondering if this was true and how bright is the screen? Does it get locked in to what ever brightness it is set to?

If I flash the DS will I be able to "unflash" it so that I can change the brightness?

IT use to be the case of the screen being locked at brightness 2 i think, however the flashme installer has been updated for a while now, and allows you to change the brightness settings as you would normally.

The flashme installer will detect that you have a DS Lite and install what is nessesary for the backlight features to work.
