In the past week i have tried to burn a bunch of DVD backups and none of them have been succesful. i tried switching media, i was using verbatim adn then tried tdk. im using dvd decrypter to burn, ive alos tried nero as well and both get errors. Ive tried a couple of different DVD titles as well. im stating to think it may be the DVD Burner itself. Im using a TDK DVDRW840G burner. I dont want to go and by anotehr burner if thats not the problem. but i cant figure out what is!?!?

this is from the right screen on dvd decrypter. let me kno wif any otehr infor is needed to help:

Have you tried burning at 4x, and what is the current fw of the burner the latest is 1.11, although that is almost a year out of date. This is an OEM Plextor drive 708a.

A Nero log would give us alot more information.

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt

You are attempting to burn too close to the edge of the disc, reduce your target size to 4300 in DVD Shrink or Recode.

Try uninstalling AnyDVD and you can reinstall it again, after your reboot. See if the Roxio pops up after the AnyDVD uninstallation and reboot. Is this coming on right after your startup?

yeah it comes up right on start up, and after hitting cancel a bunch of times, it still appears. i already had easy cd creator on my comp. and i just realaized there your only supposed to run roxio zap if you dont have it on your comp.

i will try reinstalling AnyDVD in a bit

Roxio Zap should have cleaned the registry and everything that is Roxio and should'nt be asking for an installation disc.

I agree Roxio Zap should have cleaned everything out, go to run in your start menu and type in msconfig, and then check in your startup to see if there is anything from Roxio that is there, if so uncheck it and then restart.

Do not run any unnecessary programs, like internet, no surfing. And try turning off your virus sw when you are burning. Also do a defrag and virus/spyware scan.
