Ive just burned my first DL dvd+R disc (verbatim). i burned 3 single layer discs to one DL. i used tmpgdvd author and made menus, then used shrink to get it down to 7.7gb. used decrypter to burn, burned succesfully, booktyped. Both my dvd players load the disc and then it just says "no disc." What did i do wrong?

Let me also note that when i tried compressing each dvd first w/ shrink and then inserting it into dvd author i got a filesize of only 5.2gb with no sound. So i cant do it that way for some odd reason.

Is there a setting in dvd decrypter that i missed?

Give this method a shot, using Pgcedit to insert your own layer break...

LOL...I doubt it, that is a pretty advanced program but it would probably give you the best results. I think the problem is with your layer break, with Pgcedit you select your own and it inserts it probably better than any proggy out there.

Hello limelight.

Out of curiosity at what speed did you burn that Verb media? Also what is the brand and model of your burner and the firmware version if you know it. You can get all of the above info by firing up DVD Decrypter, inserting a blank disk into the burner, and putting it in ISO Write mode. The info I'm looking for is everything on the top line in the righthand column. The firmware version is the 3 or 4 letter/number combination after the name of your burner on that top line.

^^^^^
My burner is a lite-on SHM-165H6S, firmware hs07. i use verbatim dl +r discs and burned at 2.4x.

After burning two DL discs ($4.00) already with no luck, i had a thought that just maybe it wasnt booktyped correctly. Turns out unfortunatley, i was right. I pulled up both discs in decrpyter and it said the booktype setting was DVD+R DL, and not dvd-rom like it was supposed to be.

I dont know what happened for sure because i changed the booktype setting in decrypter and it said "success."

About 5 min ago i found a lite-on utility from their website that claims that it will automatically change the booktype setting on the dirve itself to dvd-rom. My 3rd dl disc ($6.00now)is currently at 17% at 2.4x, i'll post back with results.

Awaiting the results. :)

It appears there's a newer firmware for your burner available:
