I can't really decide which one to buy, Supercard miniSD or M3 miniSD. Both seem like very good cards and since I only care about playing DS games, the choice is a lot harder for me

I'm leaning towards M3 though simply because I've read that Supercard drains the battery of the DS much much faster. Can anyone confirm this?

So... I can't decide which one to buy. Maybe you guys could help me out? :)

As I said, I only care about DS games and not about homebrew,GBA etc.

Thanks

simple:

if you are cheap like me => supercard miniSD

supercard miniSD => $49 + shipping

M3 miniSD => $82 + shipping

Do the math! hehe

They both work the same, except supercard at times slowdown in gba games. but just a little not enough to notice much for the price.

cheers

Ok, thanks for your reply :)

Does anyone know about the battery time, though?
Does the SC miniSD drain it faster than M3?

Except for the GBA slowdowns, there are other differences to. Best thing you could do is read 2 reviews and decide for yourself if the extra money is worth it.

how big of a difference in terms of GBA AND DS compatability have you guys seen in both the M3 and Supercard?

The compatability of the two devices is alomst identical, I believe the Supercard has problems running some GBA games, and also has slowdowns when playing other GBA games - which the M3 does not.

yeah but for a price difference of almost $30 I don't mind the slowdowns.

M3 => $82 USD + shipping
supercard => $49 USD + shipping

$33 USD difference is worth saving. To me that is worth using the supercard. But if yall have the money, more power to yall. hehe

I couldnt find anything on the mini-sd versions of the super card and m3. but with the older m3 the battery lasts 8-9 hours. with the older supercard the battery lasts 9 hours. Ive heard that the average battery life for the DS witout the M3 or SpuerCard is about 10 hours. So its not too bad. The battery life with the mini-sd versions probably will be different. I got this from info from http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=29384

Thanks guys :)
I'll have to search around some more when it comes to battery time.. I don't really trust official numbers :)

I've read a little about M3's save system and it seems kinda unstable to me. Writing to internal memory and then backing up to SD the next time you turn it on... some people seem to have problems with this save system.
Does supercard work the same way or does it save directly to the SD-card?

I've never had any issues with the save system on my M3, i've left it without backing up a save for over a week and it's still got the save stored in it's SRAM.

The only differences between the Supercards save system and the M3's is that the Supercards SRAM clears quite quickly so you need to back up it almost immediatly after playing on it (the M3's can last at least a week), and the Supercard does not automatically backup the save like the M3 does, so each time you use the Supercard you have to remember to back up your savefile afterwards.

Oh, ok. I thought Supercard saved directly to the SD-card and didn't use sram to save. Can you use multiple savegame files with both cards?

All DS's need the use of a Psskey/Card to launch homebrew unless the DS had FlashMe installed.

The Max Media Launcher and M3 combo is good.

is it reliable and SAFE to use FlashMe in a ds lite so there would be no need for a passkey?

i dont wanna tank my ds lite because i used flashme or something haha ...

what's a better combo then..*reliability wise*

1) M3 + Max Media Launcher
2) M3 + PassCARD

On Divineo.net the passCARD is cheaper than a ML...
