ok i tried installing the firmware from Allec and when i inserted the disc with the firmware on there, 'Erase' popped up and then 'Write' and while it was writing i accidently turned it off...

now whenever i press the Power button the red light turns off but it doesn't load the disc, i've tried leaving it unplugged from the electrical outlet and pluggin it back in and that didn't work.

any suggestions?

You turned it off while it was flashing the dvd player, i think its as good as gone.

this happened to me, the player is done for :( I just bought the same unit from wal-mart, swapped it with the busted one and returned it and got my money back
