is your minidisc player able to connect to your computer through a USB cable and directly download the songs? if not, your only other option is to capture it manually through the line-in of your computer sound card, which would result it not so good quality unless you have a decent soundcard.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

if you have a portable minidisc, with a 1/8" line out/headphone out jack, then you will need a stereo 1/8" male to male cable. if you have a non portable minidisc player, it should have dual RCA outputs, so you will need a stereo RCA male to 1/8" male cable. connect your minidisc from line out/headphone out to the line-in on the soundcard. double click on the speaker/audio icon in the system tray (bottom right) and make sure the line-in is unmuted. download and install Audacity, its free, you can google for it. then follow the program to record your audio, then you can edit it, and export it to wave or another format.
