First off, is this the best torrent P2P program out there? I've had a look around most of them are the same and i'm too lazy to look any further than bitcomet.
Next : Neither download very fast if at all. While the Upload limit resides at around 25kb - 40kb/s. I've put a cap on it at 5kb/s. Still doesn't work.
The download is always twittering bettween 0 - 1kb/s neither very handy when i'm trying to download 1.5gb of stuff.
Here's the story:
I left it download over night, and was content with it being at around 120kb/s (The health on the torrent being good). The upload was at around 27kb/s which was fine by me. THIS WAS WHEN MY BROTHER WAS DOWNLOADING AT THE SAME TIME.
Now, this morning i wake up to find it at 1kb/s, in a house with no other downloads, yet the upload was at 25kb/s.
I have no firewall activated.
I'm running on 2mb Talk Talk line.
That's all the info i can give you, im not really the computer literate type. :P
Here's a suggestion, get another client.
Bitlord is a spyware filled piece of sh*t, and BitComet is being banned by a lot of Torrent sites for being non compliant leecher cr@p.
I suggest you have a look at http://www.porforward.com/ to see if your modem/router needs port forwarding, and is causing the slow downloads,
i would suggest you switch to either Utorrent (small, easy to run, but limited options) or Azureus (pretty big, resource hog, but all the options you might ever need) as your torrent client, make sure you are using a free port on the cleint of choice, and you might want to look into getting invites for private bittorrent site like Demonoid, TorrentLeech, etc etc.
Be aware however that asking for invites to such private bittorrent sites is not allowed on Afterdawn.
So don't ask ;)
Thanks, i've actually just switched to Utorrent after seeing the Maxout utorrent thread. I followed it to good results, xcept it wont let me continue my previous download on Bitlord...Which is a tad ghaye.
It will once you point utorrent towards the folder where the downloads from Bitlord where *taken that bitlord doesn't delete those when it uninstalls anymore*
