Hi everyone,

I've been researching my problem for weeks now, and I can't get any closer to a solution. I'm literally tearing my hair out.

I built this PC at Xmas, and since then, I haven't been able to burn DVDs. I have a Pioneer DVR-111D drive, and use Nero. It is the latest version.

Here is my error log, any help is much appreciated!

Thanks.

There was another thread on this forum with the same drive and the same type messages, but no solution.

You appear to have the latest firmware and the drive appears to be set up correctly. But from the above, I would guess you are having problems accessing the drive. Do you have any other software running that might effect the drive? Have you checked for any motherboard chipset drivers that might be updated, like IDE controllers.

Maybe the above means the data it tries to write can't be accessed--not sure.

I also don't know about your media, have you tried other types?

I've updated the IDE drivers earlier today, and that didn't help.

I don't think there's any software running that could effect the drive.

The line near the top:

Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

It looks like it can't find ATAPI, or whatever that is. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Quite a few folks have the ? after the ATAPI detected, as do I, so I don't think that is related.

Everytime I see the "Que again later" problem, it seems your burner is involved. Maybe something like spin down or some other type of access is causing problems. Do you notice any strange sounds when you burn.

Have you tried burning the files to hard drive first and then using NeroBurning ROM to transfer them to DVD?

No odd noises, and burning them to HDD didn't work either.

@Rivey,
Ya know I have found that when I use DVD Decrypter, with Any Dvd running in the background that the verification does not work, I will create Iso images whether it be Rebuilder Pro, Decrypter or Nero Recode 2 and burn the images with ImgBurn, yet I will turn off AnyDVD and then the is no problem. I didn't know if you have AnyDVD running in the background, but maybe this could be causing the issue. Even when it wouldn't verify the disk still played flawlessly in any of my dvd players. Don't know if this is the issue, but perhaps you could check into it. Hope this helps a little.

Hello Rivey. I'm a bit confused because you have this:
Quote:
Burn process completed successfully at 8x (11,080 KB/s)
This WAS a sucessfull burn wasn't it?

Copy/Pasted from a Creaky's post refering to that 'Queue again later' message.

i get one (maybe one or two more) in every burn i make, so the error in itself isn't a problem. Also, as i say, when there are many occurrences of the error in a log (i've seen soooo many logs) it's always a symptom of other problems, and once all the problems are resolved, the occurrences of this error decrease. In fact i've dealt with many logfiles out there that don't contain a single occurrence of this error message/warning/whatever it is. Still doesn't explain what it means but hopefully my explanation is sufficient..

Yeah, the Burn's are successful, it's just the data on the disc does not match the data on the HDD. The majority does, it's just a couple of files that don't. As I use it for archival purposes, it's a pain in the butt. :)

Thanks for the help.

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
Well, what happens here is that the burner can't recognize the discs, so it is trying to rely on some generic media code to make it stick. You firmware IS up-to-date, and your media isn't bad, but they might be too new for your burner's media lists.
It doesn't mean that it won't work, i can burn discs that my burner can't recognize but i'm garanteed to have freezes/jumps on it.
That's pretty much all i can see from this log, nothing else seems out of place...

I have Verbatim DVD-R and Panasonic DVD+R discs, and both have the same problem. So the burner can't read both types of discs?

This is so confusing. I really appreciate the help.
