Nero error on external USB DVD writer - pls Help

I purchased a DVD writer, on USB, but it doesn't seems to work.
It reads CD's and DVD's and burns CD's.
When I try to burn a DVD I have either an error "Power on reset or bus device reset occurred" or "invalid media" or it writes aprox. 700MB and gives me an error such "no disk space".
I have a laptop with USB 2.0, I tried to burn with several writer softwares but with the same result. Since I bought it I never succeeded to write a DVD yet. Please help!

You did not give a lot of information about your setup. Post the NeroHistory.log so we can see your specifics. Take out your serial number and since it logs all you burns, possibly edit it (using notepad) for earlier tries and leave one or two of the last attempted burns.(If you use Nero 7, the log should be in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory.log)
Until then, maybe state the type of drive you have and whether you have checked to make sure your USB 2.0 drivers are up to date. Also, you might try a different type of media.

To successfully burn DVDs you need a minimum of 512meg RAM, suggest you add an aditional 256meg. In the meantime dont multitask and shut down all unnecessary programs including spyware.

I dont know these discs, I recommend Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)

Thank you for the tips, I really appreciate, finally the Nero version 6.6.0.18 works fine, with a small mention: the simulation fails, but the actual burn is ok, so far. The simulation in normal cases is working with DVD's?
