Any good site to buy swap magic? Swap magic 3.6 and 3.8 is the same? only that 3.8 can enter cheat , but the coder is the same? should i buy slide card or flip top? i have V9 Ps2. if coder is the same i think i will get 3.6, since it is cheaper. also Swap magic can play all the backup ps2 game? like the hitman blood money?(newest game)

Broke this down into individual questions cause u have so many;)

2. only difference is that coder lets u input cheats. Lots of ppl have trouble with coder.
3.Flip top. Easier to use. Slide card can destry ur tray motoer if not used properly.
4.Swap magic 3.6 can play all game that have a TOC size of 4.35 gigs or less. U will need to rebuild all DVD-9 games as well as games that have a larger TOC than 4.35 gigs.

svtsang's advice covers up pretty much everything but remember not buy software/media from e-bay. it is too risky.
one more thing, if u intend to buy swap magic+ fliptop,it will come around to £40, so i would recommend that you explore the option of getting a modchip. read tokijin's faq for info relating to modchip.
furthermore, modchips are much less hassle. don't get me wrong, i have swap magic 3.6 with slide tool and with no problems.

www.ps2laser.co.uk are good and cheap and like svt said fliptop best option only 5 minutes to install

no the best is http://www.divineo.cn i got my swap magic 3+ with my slide card and slide card pro tray from there the price is like 20-25$ and the shipping is only 5$ really good site

thx guys. i read the tokijin's faq. i already know modchip is the best option, but i am not a professional solder. i live in NYC. does any one know any place that have installation sevice?
one more thing about the Swap magic, is all DVD-9 game can be rebuild to DVD-5? which is all dvd-9 game has dummy file?
also any USA site for buying Swap magic?

Yes, all DVD-9 games can be put on a DVD-5 with a little rebuilding. This often includes shrinking and/or removing movies, extras, and sometimes dummy data. I cannot offer u a site in the US, butt us google, u will find many. U do not need installion service for a fliptop, its very simple and only requires hand tools. If u do go down the mod chip road, check out team modders, they are extremely reputable.

rebuilding files is only for swap magic this method is NOT needed for modchips because mostly all the modchips read DVD-9 media and on top of that allow you to play games with multiple disc (example of this is star ocean for PS2) with swap magic this is a problem.
i myself and deciding to invest in a modchip myself after using swap magic for over a year now and i read and seen all the advantages of using a mod chip, not only will i never have to keep swapping my DVD media but i will be able to play DVD-9 media as well, which is cool.
you can buy a pre mod when they will install the mod chip for you but unfortunately i don't live in the USA so i wont know any respectful places to re direct you to get a pre mod, maybe some people who live in the USA can recommend some sites?

well, sorry to say this kike89, but thousands of people use swap magic with no problems at all, so the problem you had was most likely caused by hardware or media problems..
yes, teammodders is an excellent place to get a pre-mod or use their installation service.

Like paddymail said, it doesnt matter what method u use to boot backups, the quality of media means everything. You would have got the same results using imation dvd-rs whether u have SM or a mod chip.

ihackps2.org is the best site bcuz they sell evrything cheaper. Swap magic is 30 evrywhere but itz 20 at ihackps2.org and if u hav a slim pstwo then get the fliptop, if u have the fat ps2 get the slide card.
