DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL for backing up DVD9 games???

My PS2 don't recognized my backup of Champions Of Norrath. I used a Ridata DVD+R DL. Should i use a DVD-R DL? Please help! Thanks

First off we'd need to know if you have a modchip that supports booting DVD-9 discs.. and if it does, then try booktyping the DVD-9 to dvd-rom first..
Secondly, you could just make a DVD-5 disc out of it if you wanted and save your dvd-9s for another time.. that's what I did..

You need a good chip (like Matrix Infinity or DMS4) that actually supports DVD9 to burn DVD9 games, otherwise rebuild it and burn to DVD5 instead. Have a look here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/5/275350 for how to rebuild games

As for your question on DVD+R or DVD-R, I have no idea sorry as I've never bothered with DVD9 (too expensive)

Yes, I have a mars modchip. A friend told me that the PS2 don't recognize any media +R, only -R. Is this true?

Not really, some PS2s like DVD+R more than other PS2s. Mine reads DVD-R and DVD+R without problems, but I know some PS2s only read DVD-Rs.

To be honest, I still think rebuilding to a DVD5 disc is better, as DVD9 seems to wear out the laser faster, and you'll have high success rate with DVD5.

I've never rebuild a game. I've been reading the tutorials and it seems very complex. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the quick response people
