Hi, i know there might av been a thread somewheres on this already but can't find it.

Yeah this game piss'n me off it runs too slow loadin menus and everything. Constantly has my laser goin and wont shutup. even after a i rebuilt it. It came out at 1.4gigs so there must have been some huge junk on there. Does anyone know whats wrong wit dis one, why is so frick'n slow after rebuildin. I burned it on a Mitsubishi dvd+r @4x usin Decrypter, tried G05 before that but no better on -R so i dont think its the media. Other than that i think my laser maybe knackerd, i looked and it's a HD7 laser its a v9 PAL fat ps2 and about 2years old now is there any guides i can find on replacin it.
I also tried adjusting the two white cogs in there for the height or angle azimuth or whateva where should it be higher or lower?.

Personally I think it's your media. Get some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, but look at all of the link above, first, It will give you the solution to your problem

The two most obvious things:
1) Media (try Taiyo Yuden DVD-R)
2) Laser (http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars/1)

Might be worth investing in a new laser and also laser fix if you don't have it already. Also I notice that you have a 80GB USB HDD... since you have a V9, why don't you use a network adaptor and use HDLoader instead, it's much faster and has better compatibility. Looking at http://list.ps2hd.com/, the game works perfectly with HDLoader

I do have some Verbatim 8x -r and they worked better than what i already have which was Ritek and TDK +r. Only got 10 of them, what about Sony DVD-R or +r are they ok?. I am gettin an adaptor soon and i already know its quicker. My 80gb drive is a usb which is a hell of alot slower than even the dvd but quieter. I Got a spare maxtor IDE drive lying around i can use but its only a 40gig and nearly dead. So first thing is the hdd adaptr then a new 200gb drive right. one of those is around $65 in Australia.
