If you do try to install both, you'll end up with conflicts.

AnyDVD is updated more often and is by far the best choice.

You have to be kidding right? I've used dvd43 and the only thing that wrong with it is it doesn't update itself and it doesn't do it often enough and it probably could've more settings.

But as too your comment about it's hard getting off of your PC is false. I just uninstalled DVD43 last night to replace with AnyDVD and no problem at all. I even checked the registry and I couldn't find any trace of DVD43.

I read lots of negative comments about DVD43 on the site. I'm not sure why. I've been using it with DVD Shrink and Nero 6 OEM for over a year and it has worked fine on everything I have tried it on, including recent Sony movies. I've never experienced any of the problems other people talk about. I would, however, recommend disabling the automatic start up function (go to the startup list in the system cofiguration window and unclick it). I have an icon for it on my desktop and only start it up when I am actually going to use it.

Basically, the question is whether you want to use a free program that works or pay 40 bucks for something some people say is better. Your choice.
