I cant find anything on the internet about it... It doesnt have a reset button like other routers... And, i want to know if anyone can help me... B'cus, ive connected My Cable Ethernet into its Uplink, and my other computers in the ports, but only the computer that was using the internet before I had the router can use the internet... Hi, assuming one of your mchines is connected to the router and accessing the web, you will have to log into the router.
Start
In the Run Box type - cmd
Type - ipconfig/all
Find the gateway IP Address which is the router
Open Internet browser
Type IP Address in Address Bar
Log ointo router.......
See how far you get. The username and password may be a problem......lets hope not.

So the router acts as DHCP server, all client PCs are set to get all connection info automatically as DHCP client, router performs Network Address Translation (NAT firewall) - you understand this stuff, right?
If you look in Start > Network Connections and hilight your connection, you should see:
IP Address: 192.168.1.100 (or whatever)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Assigned by DHCP
This tells you, using the numbers in my example, that the router has assigned itself 192.168.1.1
Look for it at that address - open your browser and connect to its setup screen. A typical LinkSys router would first be reset, and then the default pword is 'admin' - dunno about the Starnet...
Did you go there?

Alrite, I cant open command... It says theprogram is already in use... Ive already been on Starnet site, cant find anything at all... ive search google, nuthin...
I tried typing in my DCHP autoset IP, came up with "cannot find server"... Tried typing the Default Gateway, does the same...
Would I be better off just buying a new router? if so, what type is the best for the cheap?

Type in cmd.exe If you don't get access, rip that sucker out and get a Linksys router. They aren't that expensive, and there had to be a reason that your friend dumped the Starnet.

Hi, you have to make sure your machines IP address and subnet are in the range of the router settings. If the router address is 192.168.2.1 and your static address is 192.168.1.1............you can type the IP all day and you will not find the router.

Who says you have a static IP?
I thought your PC was on Automatic (DHCP client).
