I just got this gameshark disc for free

The main menu of it has the following options:

Start game
Auto cheat mode
Expert cheat mode (allows me to select what games and cheats I want to use)
Memory Manager and Gamesaves
Online Updates

I also have a DVD-R of a Japanese game, Namco X Capcom (NTSC-J). It works, I managed to play it when I took the top off my PS2 to play the game when my friend loaned me his Swap Magic 3 disc.

I don't have the Swap Magic disc anymore so I was told I can use this disc to play the Namco X Capcom DVDR. Can somebody show me how I can do this?

Keep in mind, I don't have ANY mod tools. No modchips, boot discs, no slide tools, no flip-tops. nothing. I'm completly ignorant of physically doing stuff to my PS2 outside of removing the top. So please post dumbed down instructions so I can understand them.

Bumping is against the forum rules - please read it before you post.

You can't play PS2 games with gameshark - it's only for PS1 games, just buy yourself a set of swap magic discs, they are pretty cheap anyway.

You can boot games with GameShark, but NOT with the version you have.

You would need to get hold of an old, now unsupported, version of either GameShark 2v2 (made by Datel, distributed in the US by InterAct), or Action Replay 2v2 (made by Datel). These are the old versions of the device, which came with a 'dongle' (looks like a memory card).

None of the new GameSharks, made by Fire International, under the MadCatz label, will work for booting backups, as they automatically eject the tray when you go to load up a disc.
