Hey JAdamM it does work man. Ripperd tutorial is great and works for most games. some armax codes are crap, i couldnt get resi4 to work off them either so all people had to do is go to xploder.net click on ps2 and resi4 and make sure you click on v4 cheats and convert them like it says in the guide.the masterchu guide did not work ever for me, so steer clear of that shit.
Also lucky you i still have my working coder cheats for resi4 in a txt file so here they are...

Thanks man, yea I found out this worked just two days ago. Xploder cheats work with some games and then with others not. I have yet to get a Action Replay Max cheat to convert and work correctly. Gameshark codes worked with Armored Core Nexus and Tekken 5...

JAdamM the action replay max codes that ive converted and dont get some kind of conversion error (32bit, 16bit), work fine for me. only euro codes though obviously. Are you saying you converted gameshark codes for PAL game and they work??
if so did you just convert them like in the ripperd tutorial because i did this and the games all booted fine but the codes had no effect at all. i thought this must be because gameshark codes all seem to be for NTSC?? please correct me if im mistaken.
i assume your PAL cos the resi 4 codes you pasted were PAL codes.

Ripperd, i have a few questions:
Frist- Swap Magic 3.8 accept cheats codes in AR (normal) and in gameshark mode? Or only in AR (normal)? If it accepts both ways, how does it differenciate when you're giving it in mode or the other.
Second - What is the criteria that determines if the cheats u use should be in PAL/NTSC; is it the format of the game (it's origin), or is it the type of PS2 you are using?
For example: If i run an european PS2 (PAL system), and use it to execute a NTSC game (throw swap magic), should i use european or american version of the cheats. I'm assuming i should use the American, i imagine the format of the game is what matters.
Third - I have an American version o FF12, as there isn't yet an european version for the game. So the cheats i should use are for NTSC right? If so, i should convert the ARmax codes to normal AR, right? I've tried doing so through the first method presented in this tutorial, where you had to convert codes to Raw command, and so on. Failed miserbly. Once you asked the swap magic to boot the cd, it only gave out a black screen. (the codes were doing something, only not what they were supposed to)
I also read somewhere that if you have gameshark, you could use it with swap magick: Well i asked gameshark to load the cheats, then i place the swap magick cd in place of the game, and asked swap magick to boot the game cd... result was again a black screen.
So in the end I'm asking, are there actually working codes that could be used with swap magick for the ntsck version of ff12.
Are ARmax codes trustworthy, and if so could you convert them :P.
I'll try to do so through your method, and place the output... though i'd like them confirmed in the end.

FFXII from Codejunkies (ARMAX codes - USA/NTSC) works very fine. Same code conversion with fathergod. Although, I'm having hard time at first try. :)
I tried converting ARMAX codes on my existing PS2 games, so far it works for FFXII, Kingdom Hearts 2, Devil May Cry 3...

For everyone struggling to find newer game codes (as i was) and sick of dealing with crappy armax codes and lazy xploder site, go to here www.51rg.com . obviously you will have to use google to translate page unless you can read chinese! Lots of new game codes for all regions (to vador76 sorry man there aint no Fr section but maybe the gt4 codes from there will work for you, if your still trying)
you might have to convert from raw to ar2v1 but most of the time the girl posts converted codes under the guys post and you can just copy the action replay codes from there.
also sorry if this site has already been mentioned here but i dont remember seeing it and ive got shitty dial up so going back through heaps of pages just to check if it was or not is not a option for me!

I found a tonne of codes for AR, problem is when I convert them they do not work - the game just doesn't seem to want to accept them. It's a japanese game, and I'm at my wits end here in frustration; for referance it's "narutimate hero 3"

I have problems with 2 games.
Disgaea 2:
Cant convert the codejunkies codes (32-bit) and the gameshark ones dont have the save game check off code (also there is 9999 hp max/inf code but in the game you can have even 100k hp!)
Suikoden V (multilang):
Cant find/convert codes for this one :/ The ones i used from codejunkies didnt work like they should - i dont get inf potch, quick lvl is 32-bit and inf/max hp code works only the max hp :/

I see lots of u gettin confused.
PAL game = PAL codes
NTSC game = NTSC codes
ps2 region may affect so try both if any problems.
