You might wanna get a good solid 450-500W PSU from enermax, antec or the like.

I have this monster right here and it's rock solid with my X2 3800+ at 2.4GHz. Might be a little over your budget but it'll be the last PSU you'll ever need with that system.

I like to start budget then upgrade to quality performance parts. I like to use my compy right away :)

EDIT: Also, the wiring on that PSU tends to be messy as there are SATA connectors on every wiring lead. No problem though if you take the time to tuck everything away.

If you think that is a good choice go with it. But I can't recommend RoseWill parts as they aren't really a reputable brand.

I'm not saying that they are a bad brand. I just mean that they haven't been used enough to really make them a known good brand.

Funny. No it doesn't. You have two GeForce 6600GTs I take it? No match for my X850XT.

And your stock 4200+ at 2.2 GHz can't match my X23800+ at 2.4GHz. Speaking of that. I'm gonna turn up the speed of my 120mm fan and take mine up to 2.6GHz as the constant speed.

As long as it's cool enough the CPU shouldn't have any problems ;)

Maybe do a bit of research before making a comment such as that?

Rob, i never had the proper time to insult you back. :)
those 2 6800 128mg, they suck MAJOR balls. i mean, whats the point?
to say "I have SLi"? and i am planing on upping to the 1900 and the power supply, and when it comes to getting a new system? drop in the ps video and hard drive and all i need is mobo ram and cpu! :)
so this is making things easier as i progress.

Whether 2 x 6600GT or 2 x 6800 vanilla 128MB my X850XT could blow you away.

Even FISHNERDs single-core 3700+ at 2.4GHz would pwn you. When he ever decides to get the X1900 he will pwn me also though.

I might get an X1800XT soon. Then it'll be fun to compare.

Hey Estuansis, dont get the 1800, get the 1900, it only like a 30-40 buck increase for complete pownage... but then you would have the better system all around!! Damn... :)
But i am looking into the ps and the video.. i want a new monitor, but i want to be able to put some of this stuff into my next build.

More than 30-40 dollars. I really don't care either way though. The X1800XT will suffice for me.

I can already play Prey and FEAR with full quality at 1280 x 1024... no AA or AF though. Just too big a performance hit for too low of a quality increase. Besides, at 16 x 12 AA is pretty much useless.

I can also play Oblivion with just below highest settings at 1024 x 768.

The X1800XT is way more than powerful enough to last the next few years.

it is a very stable mobo, but i had to turn of a sensor or 2 because they were defective and making my mobo do a constant BEEP.. but it is an very Good mobo.. i am trying to find a powersupply right now..
Maby a Hyper or somthing for my X1900XT that i am getting.. :(

Enermax Liberty! Get it... it's awesome!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194003

A 500W here. There's also a 620W and 400W model. All extremely stable and OC friendly. I swear by it, best power supply for your money.(Unless you get the PC Power and Cooling 1KW... that's good too.)

Also, 512MB X1900? Just ATi could mean anything.
But if your hurting for performance on a budget... X850XT and X1800GTO are the only high performance cards in a decent price bracket. Whatever you wanna get, I recommend 'em both.

Both between $150-$200. I don't know the price of LCDs as I have a $120 17" Sony CRT, but I reckon you could get something pretty nice for $200.

Hiper is very good. Yuck! modular though! Modular is fine for your average user but It can sometimes result in lower power levels all around. Not good for OC'ing and such.

And, no, not too expensive for 500W. Liberties are extremely stable, powerful, and reliable. Trust me, you wont be sorry.
