The message " Too Short location length. (less then 600000 sector) appears when I click file / export iml file. I'm using CD/DVD-Rom Generator version 1.50.

The game I'm trying to export iml is "Namco Museum 50 Anniversary" for ps2.
Size = 1.68GB
When I Extract objects to a folder on my desktop the files become 496MB.

steps:

I open CD/DVD Rom Generator version 1.50
I drag files from the folder on my desktop in the same order as ISO Buster to CD/DVD Rom Gen.
I click on Volume.
I type in the SLUS20273 and PLAYSTATION / America.
I click on File / Export IML File.
The message " Too Short location length. (less then 600000 sector) appears in a small window.

What I dont understand, first of all, is why you'd want to rebuild a game that's only 1.68Gb in the first place? Its well under the 4.35Gb TOC limit of Swap Magic, and works perfectly well with it as a 1:1 DVD backup, making the iso with DVDecrypter.
Unless you want to put it onto CD instead of DVD? In which case you'd need to change the media checks to CD (with Sonix' DVDScan) & make a CD compilation instead of the DVD one that you're doing.

However....

To get rid of the "Too Short location length. (less then 600000 sector)" message, you'd need to move the location of the 1st file manually in Sony CDVDGen in the "Layout" tab by right clicking on the 1st file & clicking on 'Location', then changing that to a much higher value.

BTW: You really should update your CDVDGen from v1.50 to the much better v2.00, which doesnt require the patch that v1.50 does.

ace1uk thanks for the reply. I didn't know that I could do the 1:1 DVD back up. I'm going to first try the making the CD with DVD Generator. Also thanks for letting me know about the location in DVD Gen. I'm going to download the DVD Gen updated version now.

thanks again,

GeeSlimmy

How do you make 1:1 DVD backup, making the iso with DVDecrypter? Do you mean just select read then write directly to a DVD using Decrypter?

you do know that there is a sticky thread at the top in bold print that tells you how to back up games with just about every program out there, right?

There are only a few games out there that will require you to rebuild them so you are taking a lot of extra steps if you rebuild every one.

yeah, you will still need to rebuild a game every now and then so it is a good thing to know how to do. Which there are also guides for on that site under the tutorial section
but most games it is a simple Mode->ISO->Read
then Mode->ISO->Write
