hi people, I'm a newie to your forum.
I've just bought a converter pack for ps2 ncts-pal from a good source, the 'kit' is working i'e decrypting, burned etc etc,but my ps2 won't play the disc. I've tried dvd-rw,dvd-r,fast write,slow write but to no avail.
the seller of the 'kit' say's to use high quality dvds, as my game has been converted by him-self(hit man 3).
as I'm new to all this stuff i would be thankful for any help.
p.s the seller has 100% good feed back on this product...

no mode chip,no swap magic!
have all the software to do job, PC is decrypting and burning but won't play. do you think i need something else???
I've contacted seller- he Say's put in disc decrypt(iso read/iso write) burn and go!!! doing all but won't work.
didn't cost much @ $6 or E10.
i think he's straight as he's been on to me a few times to help.

yeah ur gonna need a chip or swap magic otherwise ur ps2 wont be able to read the back ups, what was it that u actually bought, was it a program for ur pc or what

So you're saying the kit only consists of software for backing up ps2 games? If so, you got ripped because everything you need to create backups can be had for free. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mocking you, I'm just trying to help. It's a shame you didn't check out this forum first.
Creating ps2 game backups is easy, but you do need either a mod chip (most recommended) or the Swap Magic discs.

i bought it on e-bay under the heading of: convert all your ps2 ntcs games PAL with this software:
i don't want to waste any more media if it is not going to work.
so what woult be the best way to sort this problem out??
where to get it and how much?

yeah u kinda got ripped off, basically a modchip is the best option but a bit more exspensive, swap magic is the cheaper option have a search on google or check out the swapmagic site

That is unfortunate, but that is why people on Ebay will sell you just about anything. They sell things like that because they know that someone new to backing up games will not know they can get everything they need for free, well accept the mods you need for your PS2.
Before you go out and buy SWap Magic do all your research and make sure you get the right version, and the other equipment that goes with Swap Magic like Fliptop, or a set of tools for the slimline.
That or just save your money and get a good modchip and you will be set, you will never need to convert or rebuild your games because a good chip can play either format just fine, that is if your TV supports both formats.
DMS4 Pro, Matrix Infinity, Crystal Chip V1.1 settle for no less!
good media would be a 8X DVD-R by one of the following.
1. Taiyo Yuden from a reputable store like Supermediastore that has a guarantee to only sell genuine product
2. Philips have worked great for me
3. Verbatim is also a good choice
4. Sony or Maxcell that are made in Japan
