Hi. I've done a lot of reading into the "Illegal Disc" sticky threads and have tried a number of things to fix the problem. I have even the same burner as one of the posters (NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A). I have tried updating Nero....it was doing this problem at version 6 and i've since updated it to 7.2.0.3 (which may have been a mistake). My firmware is also updated to 2.18. I've tried reducing the writing speed and tried a simulation but still receive the same error. I'm sorry....I know there are two verrrrrrry long threads about this error but theyre closed and I need to burn a presentation disc by tomorrow for this internship thing I'm applying to. So that leaves me 24 hours to figure out how to burn this .iso I have. Right now I'm using a demo version of Nero 7. Here's my log (thank you for any help):

Nero API version: 7.2.0.3 and 7.2.0.3b

These latest versions of Nero are full of bugs, I recommend you uninstall, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then install 7.0.8.2 a more stable version from here

I've actually reverted to a more stable version of Nero 6 since and have solved it through other means....I used different media! Apparently the Memorex DVD-R that I got (50-pak for $15 is often too good to be true) was causing the error. I bought some Sony DVD+Rs and it worked.

Got a quick question though...is there a way to have Roxio and Nero coexist without any clashing? or is getting rid of Roxio the only way? I only ask because I use Roxio sometimes for DVD menu creation.

Thanks a lot for your help

Yes it is possible to have both Roxio and Nero installed. I have had both for over 3 years. Just make sure you don't install In CD by Nero and never have the programs opened together. I have Nero 6.6.0.18 and Roxio 7 Creator and have no issues between the two. Nero by far is the best for DVDs but Roxio for me is better with CDs and audio editting.

I have heard that it is the Drag-to-Disk from Roxio and the InCD from Nero that clash. I do have both Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 and Nero 6.6.0.18 installed (less the Drag and InCD) and they seem to be fine.
