All you have to do is copy the files from your Monkey Island CDs into the Scumm folder on your PSP. Just warning you, I got it running but at about 2 fps. I reccomend using The Secret of MI rather than the more graphics intensive Curse of MI.

You can't compress the files because it's not a rom. You should have enough room, though, unless your stick is filled with a bunch of other jargon. Like I said before though: it's not worth it. The Curse of Monkey Island is not playable/fast enough to be enjoyable on the PSP. Stick with either the Secret of Monkey Island or LeChuck's Revenge. They play at full speed.

ok thanks. by the way i tryed the flight of the amazon queen free ware that they had on the scummvm home site just to see if the emulater worked. And it works great. wide screen and all. i know that its far less advanced than comi.im going to try the 2 from the monkey madness cd.. would you know anything about the mame4all emulater?i moved the % eboot over to the psp and it shows up without a croupted icon.but when i tryed a mame rom, it wouldnt even take me to a menu screen.it just goes back to the psp main menu.this is the newest version of mame from pspupdates. i even tryed downloading it again and reinstalling it.no change. Not sure what im doing wrong here. thanks again.

When you say you moved the % folder, do you mean you moved it along with the one that doesn't have the % or by itself? Also, I don't know if a 1.0 PSP can run 1.5 apps. It might be able to but I don't have a 1.0 handy.

first i tryed the folder without the % first. i just got a courpted icon.so i removed..then i tryed the folder with the % only.i got the mame icon. but when i added a rom and tryed to start, the pre-psp game screen with the different colors flying around played and the little tune played but then redirected me back to the emulater line up.when i tryed to add both of the folders it asked me if i wanted to replace one with the other - that they were the same. one thing that i noticed that this emulater only has a eboot in the folder. the snes one i have has a rom, save, and some other folders ..should i be making some new folders myself along with the eboot or will that not help? your right about some emulaters not working with 1.0 . i have ran into that before. do you have a link to the mame4all origional authers site.i could do some reserch there i just havent found it yet.thanks

It is okay that it only has an eboot.pbp in the folders because that is all that the application requires. However, you need to have both of the folders (The one with % and the one without it) in order to run the game. Try renaming the folders to "Mame" and "Mame%" without the quotation marks. It shouldn't ask you if you would like to overwrite the folder if you add them both at the same time. It will say that one of these is corrupt and that is okay; just click on the one that isn't and it should boot up.

i tryed what you said with the renaming of the folders and that worked, i was able to get both eboots together in the same folder. I still couldnt get a menu to show the roms or anything past that first mame screen.it keeps going back to the main psp menu when i try to start up. I thought mabey the rom might not work but i should at least get some kind of startup menu to choose roms or something. i'll keep trying though. with out a readme included , it might not work with 1.0. i've done some searching for any sites with info on mame4all psp but i keep coming back to a forum that talks about working roms for the dreamcast and other systems. dcmu i think? thanks for the help, i'm getting closer.

Okay. Don't put both eboots in the same folder. You need the two different folders in your psp at the same time. Put both the "Mame" and "Mame%" folders onto your PSP. When you boot up your PSP you will have two files; one that says it is corrupt (it's not, it's just a trick that PSPDev came up with to run homebrew) and the one that has mame4all. Basically your setup should look like this:

-------------------PSP-------------------
--------------------|--------------------
-------------------GAME------------------
-----------------____|____---------------
-----------------|--------|--------------
----------------Mame----Mame%------------
-----------------|--------|--------------
------------eboot.pbp----eboot.pbp-------

I hope this helps!

i never got mame to work but ive had good luck with monkey island and most other scumm games. this is off the track question but are you familer with fastloader. i just recieved a 2gb memory card so ive been trying some of the larger emulaters and apps. i was working on trying to make an iso back up(nfl street) to work. from searching the forums , i found a guide by a member here on fastloader 5 , now the directions look like a guide for 1.5 users. with me being 1.0, big superise, i ran into issues. once again i can get an emulater menu to pull up but when tryed to execute , it goes back to the psp menu line up. plus it also has a crupted icon so somethings in the wrong place. do you know of a link or thread with a walkthrough for 1.0 jap users to run fastloader. or if theres a better iso loader out there. thanks

Please start listening, I've mentioned this twice before:

The corrupt icon is supposed to be there; nothing is actually corrupt. It is just a trick to let PSP 1.5 users run homebrew.

So don't delete the corrupt icon folder. It is the folder that has the % and it is necessary to run homebrew (I'm not sure if this trick works on 1.0 but I'm not sure why it wouldn't). Just click on the one that isn't corrupt and it should work.

Also, the best iso loader out right now is Devhook .41 or higher. Fastloader is old news. I also suggest that you dump your 1.0 firmware using this: http://dl.qj.net/1.50-to-1.00-downgrader-downdater-psp/pg/12/fid/... and then upgrade to 1.5 and downgrade later if you have to (1.0 isn't really good for anything unless you are a developer.) I'm also leaving these forums so I'm not going to be able to help you any more; hope this helped you at least a little bit.
