can somebody tell me what the difference in these two cables besides price? is one better than the other?

also wanted to add that i'm going to be using a cable/dsl router w/ 4 port switch. can i use these cables with it?

might have to do with the mhz as top cable is 500 but nothing for bottom cable

possibly but not certain because nothing mentioned on other cable. check with newegg to see if they know the difference of the 2 cables.

buy the cheap one we use generic cable for everything and our network actually runs at a gig
I think the '500' is so they can charge more, not that it is better

They're both FT Cat 5E. apart from the fact one is guaranteed to work at 500MHz (which is outside the specs required in the standard) and the other isn't and the price there is absolutely no difference. They will work with all hubs, switches, routers and cable modems. Industry standard.

Thanks.. Any generic cat5 cable will do unless you are running superfast gigabit cards.
