Ok, I have read up on what type of media brands are good, and thankfully its one I have. Verbatim DVD-R 8*, is the type of DVD-r I use for burning copies of PS2 Games. although some work perfectly find, some dont work as smooth. When playing KH2 I get very slow loading times and I hear like the lens are moving slowly up and down to read the disk at well..is this common when using Swam Magic disk? or is it the media. also when playing Narutmaite hero 3 during video playback i get like lags on both video and audio ( like i said video playback, not the actual game ).
I use Flip top and Swap Magic 3.6 Pro with DVD-R 8* Verbatim at 2* burning speed. Thanks abunch for the help.
You should burn at half the certified speed. 4x in this case. I learned that the hard way when I was burning Verbatims at 2x and the FMV´s in NFS Most Wanted were really messed up.
I also use Swap Magic and I also hear the lens moving up and down, but I think that´s normal since I heard it too before using Swap Magic.
Anyway try burning the games at 4x with DVD Decrypter and everything should be cool =)
i think it might also help the loading time, but it will never be as good as the original one if you´re using SwapMagic. But that´s what I think. Anyway you´re using one of the best media and if you burn at half the certified speed you´re doing the best you can. I don´t know if there´s any other way to reduce the loading times. I can´t help you there. But that should work.
Actually if you do it right there should be no difference at all between the back up and the original.
Here are a few tips and things to try
1. as above burn 8X discs at 4X
2. check here and make sure you have the most up to date firmware for your model burner. http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php 3. never have anything running on the computer including anti virus software when burning a game. and do not use the PC at all. It needs all the memory it can get.
4. If you have Nero you can try rebuilding the game, this will sometimes help with the audio/video problems and slow load times.
here is a tutorial on how to do this both with and without Nero.

i have done litterally hundreds of back ups, both for Xbox and PS2
and all of mine work just like the originals. i started out using Swap Magic and that should make no difference when it comes to load times in a game and audio video problems. Once the game loads Swap Magic has done it's job and does nothing else past that.
If you want really fast load times get a hard drive and HD Advance.
