Hi

In BitSpirit i downloaded a file. Once it had finished downloading i deleted the job. I went to find the file and it had a .bt! extension instead of a .avi extension.

does anyone know how to change it back into the proper format without corrupting the file?

thanks

if the file is DEFINITELY finished then it will not be corrupted.

in explorer, does the file show the !bt extension or do you know that it has the extension

if it shows it, just remove it and replace the .bt! with .avi if that is the correct file type it should be.

if it is in the format .avi.bt! then just delete the .bt! from the end to have .avi

just be sure to create a copy of the file just in case.

if that dont work, try using a better client like utorrent which is really fast and does everything automatic with minimal memory and cpu useage.

best thing to do there mate is goto your settings and turn the bt file extension off for incomplete files,

Advantages-
o It allows you to preview it at a greater speed
o saves any hastle like the prob your having now
o and it also makes it alot easier for your comp to link it with a launching program
