Media, Burning or DVD Player Problem?

I have been backing up movies for some time using the same programs, burner and media (DVD+, Sony disks). When I watched the last three movies ( On DVD Player) that I backed up, there are small errors showing in the picture beginning half way through and increase till the movie is unwatchable.

I have checked all three movies after that, with DVDInfo and they show no errors and they play well on the computer with no problems.

I am confused as to whether my DVD Player is shot, I am making errors burning the dvd (same method used for some time with success and speed of burning as well, 6X with Nero.)the media is the same, Sony DVD+ disks and the same DVD Player.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have another player you can try them on to see if it is indeed the player? You may want to get a lens cleaner disk and see if this works, do any of your old backups do this or just the new ones?

When buying your Sony blanks, do you pay attention to whether they are "Made in Japan" or "Made in Taiwan"? Always buy the Sony media that's made in Japan, not Taiwan. The Japanese made Sony's are quality media, and the others aren't.

It won't hurt either, to Booktype the +R media to DVD Rom, if your burner is capable of it. It will make your movies more compatable, with stand alone players.Here is info on Booktyping:

I'm thinking you may have gotten hold of some "Made in Taiwan" Sonys.

I agree on it maybe being some bad media, lately my Plextor's have taken a dislike to the Sony MIT. I stopped using them.
