Hi guys, I've been having some troubles getting Star Wars Battlefront 2 to burn onto my hard-drive (For backing up onto a DVD afterwards that is) I've used about every tool that I can think of to use, being, Alcohol 120%, DvD Decrypter and Nero, still no luck, something always seems to go stale nearing the end of the copy.

It just stops at about 90% and doesn't go any further, on Alcohol it tells me there is an error and DvD Decrypter doesn't go any further, and the disc stops spinning. Any ideas on what's going on here? Thanks.

on alchohol's website, there are detailed instructions on burning PS2 games. Did you follow them? Also with Alchohol when there is an error it code just mean that it encountered some protection and when backing up a game you ussualy just ignore those. If that doesn't work, then your disk might just be scratched.

Have a look at my sig., there's a link to how to burn discs. Also I agree with above, your disc might be scratched. Lastly try to use a different DVD reader, sometimes this helps

I've been able to sucsesfully back up several games using Alcohol mostly, and this is the first i've time i've ran into this sort of problem. I'm going to try again using Alcohol and just ignore the error if I can, but I think it tells me it failed, then askes me if I want to delete what was was copied so far. As for the disc scratchs though it's not mint or pristine quality but it's no worse then any of my other games that have been backed up without an issue.

The thing with discs being scratched is that, when it looks fine it might not actually be readable by the DVD reader, and nice versa. I have discs that I thought could never be read again and they reads fine on my PC, but those with a very minor scratch that would never read no matter how I tried.

Also a stupid question - your HDD is not out of space is it?

Sorry for the long time to respond, no I've still got a good 100gigs before I run out of space. So I decided to try Alcohol again figuring i'll see if I can ignore the issue and continue the burn process and it ran wonderfully this time, finsished wihtout any erros and it plays fine. Thanks to all who helped with this.
