My friend works for slysoft and he says "Slysoft is currently testing copying/emulating copyprotection, meaning backed up hddvd/bluray disks will have copyprotection." he also says Slysoft has plans for software that can copy an hddvd to bluray or a bluray to hddvd.
I dont know if any of this is true "Copying copyprotection might be pretty hard.

My question would be why would we/they want to emulate the copy protection? Or am I reading what you wrote wrong?

Don't they emulate the protection in order to make an exact copy? This is so that the players will be fooled into thinking they are reading a genuine disc?
This would make copies more compatible. I think they do the same sort of thing with Clone CD, having the ability to copy in RAW file mode.
Then again I am probably talking out of my backside!

Which bit was I correct about? Talking out of my backside?
I tend to do that a lot.
LOL!!
I guess that once they can emulate the protection then the sky would be the limit. The potential gains for us chaps would be fantastic!

i just hope slysoft has a "backup" country or island where to move when the movie and music industries buy(and they will try)Antigua's politicians.
Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

I love Slysoft I have tried many other dvd copying products like DVD X COPY, DVDShrink + Decryptor "DVDFab sometimes included". And I have gotten bad sector errors from DVDFab
I have had zero problems with AnyDVD and clonedvd2/mobile just get the updates when they come out and you won't have to worry about copy-protection.
I just bought Glory Road last night and highly recommend it. It comes with a free child's movie ticket to Cars i'm going to see that this weekend

i don't work from the disc itself, i always ripp to the hard drive first, so since AnyDVD included ripping capabilities, i use it 100% of the time,
AnyDVD to HD/vobblanker if needed/Recode2 to ISO/IMGBurn to burn.
PS: AnyDVD RULES.

by copying a standard dvd it decrypts the copyprotection. But the bluray/hddvd software there working on copies the dvd with the copyprotection so it tricks the player into thinking you have a legitimate copy of an hddvd/bluray disc.
Sorry if this is unclear.

Wow, that sounds just like what they used to do with DVDs back in the days before CSS was cracked. However, can the AES sectors be burned on the writable media? With DVDs, you need special authoring media (DVD-RA) and a $5000 authoring burner to access this area and I am not sure if you can even burn the CSS or just add a flag for it.
