Hello,

I have been able to rip many DVD's with DVDFabDecrypter and DVD Decrypter. I'm no expert, but I know how to do basic ripping.

The problem is that I want to rip my Wedding DVD. Both programs hang at a certain spot in the DVD and after repeated tries, tells me there is an error on the disc and it can't be done. If it was any other video I wouldn't care, but this is my wedding DVD and is very important to me.

I know the DVD has never worked very well in my DVD player, and none of the several copies I have will rip.

I know the videographer used a mac to burn the DVD's.

Does anyone have any tricks for getting past this?

In which modes did you try to rip it with DVD Decrypter? There are some setting within that allow you to "brute force" a rip. I'd like to know exactly what you have tried so far.

AnyDVD http://www.filehippo.com/download_anydvd/ also has a built in ripper which corrects for read errors, another option which I have heard of, but never personally tried is called ISOBuster, available here. http://www.filehippo.com/download_isobuster/
I think one of these two should work for you. Does the disk have an adhesive disk label stuck oon it? Removing it carefully using water and or SeaBreeze facial astringent can help. If not, the last resort is to try and rip the disk on the same burner it was burned on.From the sounds of the problems you are having, I'd be willing to bet that the disks were burned on sub-par media. When you reburn the wedding video, try using Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim disks, you'll be happy with the results.
