hi,
i have a huge problem, a couple of weeks ago i accidently eresed my entire hard disk.
luckely, i had made a backup of my enire hdd with Nero 6.
so, i boot from from my backup dvd's and a Nero restore programm boots up: nrestore.
so, let it restore my system (takes 3 hours) and when it is finished it says: pres enter to reboot and use of restored system.
but when i boot nothing happens.
just a blinking dos kind of cursor in the upper left corner of my screen.
i tried allready alot, and have spended allready alot of time in it.
no result.
is this a common problem? and has anyone a solution for it?
or does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?

Are you sure you restored to the correct drive, and did you need to change any bios settings to allow booting from something other than your hard drive?

Did you see an option to write the master boot record?

no, i didn't go through the files, doing that in a minute.

i did restore the correct drive, did not had to change bios settings: if there is a bootcd in the drive, it boots from there, otherwise it boots from the hard disk.
yes, before i start restoring there is an option write master boot record, along with some other options: clear mbr, write new mbr, etc.
