Hello,
Anybody help me before i go suicide! this is really getting me crazy...
I just bought and installed a DVD Burner Pioneer DVR-105 and upgraded nero to version 5.5.10.28 (latest) than i was going to test my new burner...
First test: copy on the fly a simple CD-R. Anything worked fine. cool...
Now let's try the "hot stuff"
Second test: Copy on the fly a simple DVR-R.
ARGHHHH Doesn't work....
Nero complains with this message
"there is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this medium" and the burning process doesn't start.
The funny thing is that the original DVD (the one i was trying to copy) is only 3.4Gb while the blank media is of course 4.7Gb. (tried with blank media from Quixo 1x, Princo 4x, FujiFilms 2x at any speed available).
What the hell?!?!
Looks like a Nero bug?? anybody have a solution to this weird problem?!

Strange - try completely uninstalling Nero then re-installing it. Also make sure it is set to be compatible with your OS (right click - Properties - compatibility).

I forgot to say i'm using Win XP Pro on an AMD Athlon XP2000+ with 640Mb Ram
I wiped nero off my hard disk (uninstalled and removed ahead directory), than reinstalled anything but still got the same problem.
and yes i selected "dvd" from the drop down box :(((
The only thing i can think about is that i have dvdrom and dvdrw on the same ide channel, maybe that confuses the nero???
Moreover if i try "medium info" on the dvd i want to copy, it says 1 session 4490Mb (while it is only 3.4Gb!!!) i don't know if this is normal
The DVD burner works perfectly cause i was able to copy a dvd using dvdxcopy 2.01 (that is avoiding to copy on the fly) so i'm sure the problem is nero!
Anyway what other program can i use to copy dvd on the fly?

Try RecordNowMax which you can try first before buying at www.download.com You might also want to download Nero again (from the same site).

Are you trying to copy on-the-fly on the same IDE Cable ?

I tried also to put the dvdrw on ide1 and the dvdrom on ide2 (both set as slave because i got 2 hard disk on both ide channels set as master) and it still doesn't work. Nero keep complaining about not enough space on destination media @#$!
I installed RecordNow MAX as suggested and anything worked, i mean i can copy dvd on the fly with recordnow, but i like nero! i want nero working damnit :\
I tried asking ahead about this issue but they nerver answered. Anybody got any idea to solve this weird problem?

Only problem I have w/ Nero (5.5.10.20 I'm using) burning on-the-fly is that Ihave DVD-RW & DVD-Rom on the same IDE cable..that gives me hit/miss results sometimes.
But as to getting to do the 'on-the-fly' copy in Nero (Wizard I use , but have heard from others that they do it thru Nero Express w/ success obviously like) is no problem itself.

I use a Liteon166 and a Sony 500ax firmware 2.c. I use Verbatim +r's, 4x, and I have no problem copying on the fly with Nero 5.10.28, with the Liteon as the master and the Sony as the slave on the secondary IDE. Never have any problem with this setup. XP, P4,2.6gigCPU.

I believe the problem is about the VIA Chipset than. I tried anything triable the copy on the fly works if i mount my DVDRW in a P3 500Mhz. Maybe AMD+Via chipset got problems with DVR105 and/or Nero? dunno i'm clueless. Anybody experiencing problems with this enviorment?
