What media are you using? Also burn it at half the rated media speed. (8x at 4x) (16x at 8x).. if they're DVD+R and your burner can booktype, make sure it's DVD-ROM. Shouldn't be no problem with SA.. I doubt you need to rebuild it but if u want, it never hurts.

This game works fine with SW3.6. Though it is a very sensitive when it comes to making a backup of this game (I should know i tried backing it up about 4 times until it was done right). As always, use very good media and burn as slow as possible.

My pal version of this game is over 4.5 gigs. I did a 1:1 copy with dvd decrypter onto a mitsubishi +R and it plays fine with SM 3.6. :D

@pepsimaxx: I suppose you don't need us to tell you to use good media and how to burn (tutorial in my sig. if you need it :D) now right? Try rebuilding the game? Also you know what to do with the laser if you need to :)

agree with the above. GTA San Andreas you need to make sure it is on top quality media. An 8X DVD-R would be my choice
Then set DVD Decrypter to 1X and burn it.
If that doesn't work then try it at 4X
also the rebuilding idea is a good one.
every little thing helps when it comes to a game that will be reading almost constantly in the drive when your playing it.

try Verbatim DVD-R 8x? 16x is causing a lot of people problems apparently.
Also have a look at that laser :)

OK I have an old san andreas original for PS2(of course I have the original or why would I care about backing it up when its this old).
I cant backup mine as its scratched in a crucial data reading point (I have tried using CDCheck to extract it with no success).
I borrowed a freinds which isnt scratched and backed it up and burned it to a TDK DVD+R with dvd decryptor.
The disk loads fine with swap magic when selecting PAL and SPECIAL BOOT.
However, when it goes to load when you leave cj's house, or any major change that it needs to load alot of data for, it takes a very long time to load.Does anyone have any suggestions why this happens.

Geeesh ya know thats a great question, when ya buy em on a spindle and ya throw away the label kinda hard to figure that out.I put a blank in the drive and dvd decryptor says "Maximum Write Rate: 3,245 KB/s (2.3x)" if that helps.

I used +R discs with an MCC 003 code, booktyped to DVD-ROM. There 8x burnt at 6x, plays with no probs. The game is quite big so a rebuild with gnie's ExPERT tool may help.

Ok your a little more advanced, what is an MCC 003 code and where do I find gnie's expert tool.So what are you saying that because its so large dvd decryptor is compressing some of it or its leaving out parts of the code? All this to play my original game that I dropped and got one tiny little scratch in the wrong spot....they should send me another copy.Evil.
