I'm using Cdex to rip audio, my question is if you rip a cd at 192 bitrate or at 320 bitrate, when you go to burn it again no matter what they will sound the same because they are decided back into wav? or will there be a difference in sound quality? how does this work and what is the best process to get the best quality? i thought that no matter what quality you rip at 128, 160, 192, etc when you go to burn back to cd it will be the same due to the fact that its back to wav

The one at 320 kb/s should sound better.

When you compress an Audio file down to 192kbps you have to take out some of the information in the file. That information can never be regained. So, the higher bitrate files will yield you a better sounding CD. If you are just making a copy of a CD, the best way is to make a 1 to 1 copy of the CD. I know Nero does this, not sure what others do. If you only have 1 CD tray you can not burn on the fly(burning in 1 CD tray while it reads the original CD in another). The software will make an image file(A perfect copy of the original CD) on your computer, then open your CD tray to insert a blank CD. Once the tray is closed it will burn that image file to your CD & you have a perfect copy. If you want to make compilation CD's, this is a different story. Like I said earlier, the higher bitrates will yield a better CD.
