I am trying to use VOBrator 0.2b to view certain parts of the VIDEO_TS.VOB file to find out what I want to keep and what I would like exclude from my DVD's that I am backing up. Problem is that it only seems to work sometimes. Roughly 1 out of 20 times it will display what is on the DVD when I preview a particular VOB ID. Roughly 16 out of 20 times it will only display a blank black screen and the other 3 out of 20 times it will come up as "error cannot render graph". I am thinking it is due to missing codecs??? I have it running in 256 Color mode and I have the elecard mpeg player and decoder (latest versions) installed as it suggests in this forum:
I have tried running in other display and color modes but no change at all. When I first installed it I had alot of other DVD software installed on my PC also and it worked well only failing seldom. Since then I have uninstalled most of the the software and reinstalled most of what I uninstalled as at one point I was making room on my hard and at the time I wasn't doing much with DVDs. I have also tried viewing these VOB IDs in IFO Edits Jukebox viewer and all come up as blank black screens. Any suggestions??? Or is there any other software out there will allow me to do what VOBrator does???
As far as software installed related to DVDs I have the following installed currently: DVDXCopy v1.52, Pinnacle Instant Copy, PowerDVD, Smartripper v2.41, DVDdecrypter v3.1.6, DVD2one v1.1.2, MakeItEasy v0.16 Nero 5.5.10.28, DivX v5.05,DVDSoftware (BeSweet, Besweet GUI, BS Player, IFO edit v0.95, IFO Update, MPEG Mediator, Ogg cut, Ogg Mux, and VOBedit), RecordNow MAX v4.5, TMPGEnc PLUS v2.57.41.146 (also have but not installed TMPGEnc DVD Author v1.0422). I also have Nimo codec pack 5.0 build 9 beta 1 but I have never installed it because I have read it can cause conflicts easily so naturally I was wary of installing it.
My systems specs:
P4 2.53 Ghz, 1024MB RDRAM, 80G HD, 128MB ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, Philips DVD+R/RW 228, Sony CRX160E CDRW, XP Pro.
Any info or links leading to information that can help me solve my dilema would be greatly appreciated.
