I had problems with this one at first. Let me give you the one hundred percent success story.
Rip the movie with AnyDVD, sending the file to a created temp. or your preference.
I'm using a Plextor PX 740A
Use a double layer disc.
Open Nero Burning ROM, select New DVD-Video project and slide the file out of temp and into the compilation window. Select all, and burn away.
Pretty damn simple really.

Hi txsfrbl
Yes AnyDVD can make things pretty simple! Great app.
I used it too for this one but used CloneDVD to burn to a single layer.
Funny movie too (imho)

Hey binkie7,
I may have to give CloneDVD a try next time. I'll admit that I'm spoiled
by DVD X Rescue. It has always brought a DVD9 down to single layer without problems. Love it's compression. The Pink Panther is the only movie (so far) I've had a problem with in Rescue and DVD Decryptor. I hope it's not the "encryption of the future". I love DVD X Rescue.

Give CloneDVD try sometime - AnyDVD works best w/ it (same developer).
Never used DVD X rescue though did use X Copy 'back in the day' :)
Some 'neat' little features of Clone:
°Can do movie only and keep the menus
°If doing full back up can just 'uncheck' which special features you not want - instead of inserting a still pic/image like Shrink & Recode.
°No analysis stage like Shrink & Recode (minimal at best)
Quality is decent too - I try to keep mine around 70% or higher.
For the 'encryption' - lol this is/was Sony's copy protection of the future 'ARccOS'. You see how good they are :) AnyDVD cuts right thru it!

I was also unable to copy this one a while back, and I never did because I didn't look into it I guess. So I am able to put it on a single-layer DVD+R with that method?

Correctamundo...the method described by Binkie is exclusively for single layer burns.

Hi Inscribed
Welcome to aD
Sure you can put it on a single layer. I did removing what I didn't want and keep the compression minimal at best. Just my preference.
Don't know which programs you have but AnyDVD w/ Clone DVD is about the easiest and will handle anything out there. Updates frequently to stay on top of things.
A free route which will hanlde it too - would be to rip w/ DVD Fab Decrypter then open those files in DVD Shrink to compress and burn with Nero or DVD Decrypter.
@locoeng - hey you're faster than me :0)

sounds good
I've used CloneDVD w/AnyDVD in the background, I still have them so that's good. I'd tried ripping it with DVDShrink but it only saw part of the main movie or something. I use Nero7 to burn.
I'll try it with AnyDVD, ty

Make sure your using the latest versions too:
AnyDVD - 6.0.1.1
CloneDVD - 2.8.9.9
You can always post back if need further help. But I think you're good to go on this movie w/ that combo!

For even better results use dvd rb pro with either hc encoder or CCE (I prefer cce). Because of the excellent job that rb/cce does, the only time I use DL media is when I combine 2 dvd9's onto one DL disc and then I again use rb/cce to compress the folder to fit on one DL disc. I have a variety of transcoding software in my arsenol but use rb/cce over 95% of the time.
