reseat the heatsink as appears there is an air gap between the cpu & heatsink. if using a pad between cpu & heatsink than need to use a bit of heatsink compound between the 2.

Does your harddrive make a sound when the freeze is about to happen or happened?
I had a problem like this once and it turned out one of the discs or something inside my HDD had slipped out of position. Got a new one for free from the people I bought PC off and luckily they gave me one that as 20gig bigger :D

That's an unlikely issue to be fair, there are many more benign causes for the problem.

When your PC freeze's does the blue screen come up or does it just
freeze at the desktop? Have you change any PC settings before it started freezing?
A similar problem happened to a friend of mine and when I had a look some of the important service on his PC were set to stop. After the services were restarted the PC was ok. Your temps are too high and have you considered installing another fan?

how many fans total in case & what are their locations as you have a heat problem caused by poor air flow??

Well if its overheating that means its not enough you need to add more case fans or change your ones for the larger sized ones

Do we think a new heatsink fitting is in order?

I think a new heatsink and some properly applied thermal paste might be a good idea here, and maybe get another side for your PC case, with more vent holes.
Also, check if all fans are working properly and installed the right way around.

Yeah, cases do make a differene. By changing from a stock TIME case to a Superflower Rhythmic, I dropped my full load case temperature by 11 degrees, and a further 5 when I added some more case fans.
