ok i just bought dvds to try burning my backups. first i tried dvddecrypter and it wouldnt let me choose my dvd drive. anyone know why? so then i just but the blank dvd in my cd-rw drive but it said there was no disc in the drive. that didnt work so then i tried Alcohol 120% and it wouldnt let me choose my dvd drive, and it said there was no disc in my cd drive when i had a dvd in there. anyone know what to do?

Do you have a CD drive or a DVD dirve? If you have a CD drive, it can't recognize a DVD. You'll have to get yourself a DVD burner. Also, it can't be a DVD-ROM drive, they can only read them, can't write to them.

Try opening your Device Manager...then Disable your DVD drive...then Enable it. It might prompt you for a restart but just cancel that.

To get to Device Manager, right-click My Computer>properties>Hardware tab>Device Manager.

Once you've done that, put your blank DVD back into the drive and open DVD Decrypter to see if it will read the drive.
