I am trying to make a backup from a torrent of Quake 3 (My dog chewed the original) and it says that it isnt a single layer game??? what do i do?

Burn it to a dual layer disc or rebuild the game

Quake 3? Now that's a very old game.
It won't be dual-layer either, it came out before dual-layered dvd's. In fact, isn't it a cd based game?
What size is the image file?

ok so the mds file that got extracted (the one that i usually just double click on and it burns it automatically with dvd decryptor) is 1 KB. When i double click it, it says "Invalid or unsupported file format! Reason: Only single track images are supported."

We are not interested in the size of the .mds file, what's the size of the .mdf file?
