yep I agree - there's no point in saying stuff that's already been said before.

As for the dvd identifier, it's much more in depth than dvd decrypters code lookup.. and it's only around 400KB or so program.

no worries.. you only need to use it once on every pack you get.. or not even that often if you stick to a good supplier and brand/manufacturerlike I do.

TY's aren't cheap here either.. so I only use them sparingly, most of my games are done on ritek g05 as they're much cheaper yet still good quality dye.

OK, is this your very first backup disc? if not then do your other backups work ok?
When/where do you get the error message?, is it in swap magic boot screen in red writing? if so then that rules out it being a problem with swap magic and the console resetting.
That only leaves the media and the software/burner being a problem:-

Did you use disc identifier like I asked? post the media code here for us to see please.
Did you update to the latest WNASPI.DLL file?

Try using a different program to burn the disc.. Nero (in burn image to disc mode) or imgburn should do the trick.. at 4x again and see how it goes.
If you need directions on how to burn with those programs see the links in my signature line.
