Iam buying a Dell desktop soon and as you can customize it, I want to make sure I get the correct CD/DVD drive. What I want to do is download games (ps2) music and movies then burn them on to a disc. Watching movies/TV is not important, niether is listening to cds.
Would dual layer be useful or not?
The one I am looking at is 16xmax DVD+/-RW & 48xCDRW.
The first bit means it can burn dvds at 16 speed ??
The second bit is for CDs burnt at 48x?

I would strongly recommend a BenQ DW1650/1655 or NEC 3550, however, in the end the choice is yours. To get a little more knowledge on selecting the right burner for you here is a little light reading....enjoy.
