can i furuther increase my d/l speeds?

I have a Dlink 524 router and have dsl (my isp is verizon)
okay before doing anything, my download speeds were at about 11kb/s.
but after followed all the guides, my speed went up about 50kb/s. I have done the following: (im using utorrent)
1.fowarded my ports to utorrent and my router
2.enabled unpnp on the network connection i use (the LAN)
3.fowarded my ports to my windows xp firewall
4. enabled the protocol encrytion thing and disabled unpnp mapping
5. set my global max upload rate to 9 after dooinng a speed test.
example: i was downloading a movie with 242 seeds but was only connected to about 55 of them. also i was only connected to about 60 peers out of 710. my speed was about 45kb/s
I dont know why but i tihnk my download speed should be way more than 50kb/s after doing all this. Can i furuther increase my d/? is my isp blocking my ports or soemthing? any adive would be helpful thanks!

ok heres the results
Download Speed: 722 kbps (90.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 132 kbps (16.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Ok, so you should be able to get better speeds...
Ok so there's a LOT of other peers, so those low speeds could be partially caused by that.
I have some more questions for you :
What port are you using ?
Where are you downloading from ?
Also, limiting your upload speed that much is not necessary *and not advisable*

i am using port 16881.
im downloading from mininova.org
by the way, i have other torrents too but theyre not uploading... would it help if uploaded them? i tried to upload them but its ays "queued seed" ( im downloading something else at the moment).

Well you should first change that global max upload to something else, cause 9 kbps is nothing... 90 would be more like it with your kind of connection.
The portrange seems ok, as long as you properly forwarded it.
As for downloading, try getting into some private BT sites like :
http://www.demonoid.com/
http://www.supertorrents.org/
http://www.torrentleech.org/
They are all invite only, but those are free, so try to get some of your friends.
One warning though : you are NOT allowed to ask for Invites to such sites here on Afterdawn.

oh alright so in order to download from those webswite, i can ONY do so by getting invited? just amking sure
ok last question: how do i upload my other torrents? thyre in queded seed mode * im using utorrent) thanks

Yes, you must be invited to be able to download from them.
My download is 730/800kbps, upload is 100/140 *varies between torrents, sometimes i ony get 10 kbps either way*
And like i said, change that general upload, and look in this forum, there's an excellent ”torrent guide made by Dvdback23 listed in the stickies.
Those torrents are either queued because you capped your upload on such an immensely low speed, or because there are no leechers that can/will connect to you.
