Thanks for the Previous Tips Laddyboy. I am not sure how to edit the other post or even just delete it, but here is my second post with your suggestions. I have used 3 different types of media --Comp Usa DVD+R , Memorex DVD-R, and HP DVD-r. Like I said I am new to this and just want to create some vacation and home movie DVDs. I thought it would be much easier.....but I am up for the challenge. I am fairly computer literate, just not in the DVD and video editing field. Here is my LOG:

Howdy again.

To edit a post, click on the paper/pencil icon in the upper right corner of your post.

You need to edit out your serial numbers from the original post and this post as well. See the second section of the burn log of your post in this thread. Nero isn't able to ID your media which I think is causing the problem. While it could be firmware related, it's easier to assume it's media related first.

Instead of trying to burn the compilation immediately with Nero, try outputing an ISO image file instead with NeroVision. In other words, select the Image Recorder as the output target rather than a DVD burner. After Nero creates the ISO image file. Use DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn that to a DVD. This way we can see if Nero could be the problem maker with respect to the burn.

http://www.imgburn.com
http://www.filehippo.com/download_dvd_decrypter/

Also update Nero as explained in the other thread.

The media you have is likely not high quality. All three of those brands often use media manufactured by lesser quality manufacturers. You might want to purchase a RW disk for testing until the problem is resolved so as to not make a stack of coasters.

The memory allocation captured by Nero seems a bit wonky as well. Make sure no other programs are running except the ones you actually need at the moment.

Hi je2350
Welcome to aD
No need to edit or delete your posts. (to edit though you click on what looks like a pen & paper in the right hand corner - you can't delete them)
It's best to keep it all in one thread - makes things less confusing and we know what suggestions/ and what you've tried.
Just go back to the original thread and reply to the last post. You can copy and paste this post. Here's a link
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/358516
That way the members helping you will get an email response(most opt for it) that a new post has been made.
I'll request this one closed.

edit: ya beat me laddyboy!! want this one closed? haven't requested it yet.

It'd be better to close the original since it has the basically useless NeroVision log.

lol - they are pretty long - though some - not all- do have some decent info (like hard drive space left) - just take forever to read :)

You're call.

Closing the original would be best I think although there are program serial numbers to be edited out.
