New Super Mario Bros - DS. IMO it is a totally over hyped game. Levels are short, levels are easy, game itself is very short. I beat it in about 2-3 days. Don't get me wrong, its a great game, but its not the same as the old SMB. I understand that since its called NEWSMB, but come on.

anyways i say not worth it.

have you gotten all the stars too? i absolutely love this game.. definitely worth the $35. Sure, a little bit longer game would've been better, but if you think about it the game is pretty in-depth as it is with all the stars. Certain stars you can only get by going a certain way.. so that adds a little bit of flavor to the game

I think it's a great game, levles being short can be thought of as a good thing, it is a portable game afterall. I 'beat' it the day i got it. Took me another 3 days to get all the star coins though. I prefer it to the older SMB *hides from potential fanboys*

I think your wrong. The game isnt shorter then the others at all. You have to understand we are used to the old ones. it only takes a small bit of time to beat 1,2,3, or Super Mario World. A combo of them is fine on how hard they are as well. yeah we could use some a bit harder, but the diff now is the small fact there is a save feature and it is supposed to cater to all ages. It is a great homage to the old schooling Mario games and really, we are just better and used to the difficulty nowadays. If you dont believe me then go back and play the old ones and see if you die much. I sure the hell dont. ;)

Yes, I also think this is a great game but im having a few issues with saving. During the game i do not get a message saying 'saving' nor do I get the option to save so I assumed that it had just saved. But when i switch my DS Lite back on, my whole progress has gone and I have to start all over again. Does anyone know the problem or have I missed something. Any help would be great.
Cheers

You have to go to one of the Mushroom houses, when you get rid of the sign you have the option to save.

The only other way is to complete a world, you then have the option to save.

After you have completed the game once you can save whenever you want by pressing start and choosing save.
