ok i was just wondering about how the games are going to work on the psx emulator for psp, i been reading around and it looks like it'll prob be sony will rip and encode each one then you pay to download them, but if thats the case doesnt it just mean that one person who's kind enough will pay, download them then upload them as a torrent(hell i might if no one else will)

and also another thing i was wondering is, if that is the case would it be possible for someone to find out how the encoded the iso/roms and just make a program to rip your own games into that format???

well my oppinion is that sony should just release fw3.0 then some software themself to do as i just said, so you can rip your own legit games to play on your psp, cause if they do it the first way(download service) it'll only promote piracy more (well thats what i think anyways)

would like to hear what other people actually think about this

I hadn't heard anything about this, but you can bet that if sony does the download thing, that people will try to exploit it. Of this I'm sure. Pretty much anything sony puts out will be exploited and hacked till it either breaks or people give up. We'll see how they handle this problem and still make enough money to keep releasing games and updates for the system.

Sony will take PS1 games and reprogram them so that the controls work with the PSP. They plan on selling them in an ISO/ROM format and then having you download them with your PSP. They'll encode it so that it'll only work with the PSP that you downloaded the game with.

Trust me, though. Hackers will be on that as soon as it drops. My guess is that it'll be hacked within 2-3 months, and I'll wait that long. Either way, knowing Sony, they'll screw up and an exploit will be discovered.

It'll be cool if they let you rip your own original PS1 games, but that's highly doubtful, because you could rent them, use a friends, or download them.

It'll be hacked though, just watch. Plus, a homebrew PS1 emulator is in the works, so it's a win win either way.

I still dont see how a PS1 emulator is going to work when a snes or N64 emulators dont even work properly on the PSP. Unless the PS1 emulator is going to load up just like back up umd games on the mem stick. So why dont all emulators work like that then so they will be all playable 100%?

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Do you even THINK, ONE BIT? Sony developed the PS1 and Sony develops the PSP. They can do whatever the hell they want with their systems because they have FULL ACCESS to them. Sony is developing an official PS1 emulator based on their own official PS1 for their own official PSP System with Coders on a PAYROLL, not some people that make homebrew emulators for the hell of it.

The PS1 games will be launched that the same way homebrew is, straight from the GAME menu.

First, read Thirsts post......then think about it a bit...Does Sony make the emus such as SUPER NINTENDO or NINTENDO 64??? No....Trust me, when the official ps2 emu is released, it will run at full speed.

Nah, the fuzz can't catch you there. I'd still use it, but many people have uploaded their torrents at other sites because of that whole ordeal.

I dunno about that. Pacmanfan has either been progressing so well that he's forgetting to update (of which I'm hoping) or he just dropped the project (which seems to be the case).

I'll try and play the optimist and just guess that he is going to get all games running at full speed before he mentions PSPSone again (last post of his was about 9 months ago).

Im confident that a homebrew ps1 emu will be released at the same time as the offical Sony emu, and will work just as well. At the same time, you have to get your priorites straight, if you really want to play ps1 either upgrade or buy the damn chip.

I'm getting the chip either way. I wanna mess around with custom firmwares. If anything ZX-81 will code a homebrew one.

What, there's nothing left on that site. Everyone has abandoned that site. I thought that the fuzz had nothing on that site?

Well i dont think that sony will be making it be able to boot from the menu...Cuz they are thinking that people dont have 1 or 2gb mem sticks...So what i think is that maybe they will download it in peices...Im thinking but who knows...the've kept it under raps and all they need to do is release somemore info on it.

btw...once homebrew programers look into the psx emu, expect for n64 and gba emu to be alot faster...SOURCE CODES

hey can someone help me put an image here?
