i want to buy a couple of games but the new ones are all fw2.60 and i dont want to upgrade, i tried devhook40 and managed to emulate 2.50. is ther a way to 2.60 or a newer version of devhook???

i even tried genesis umd launcher2.6 , i went to try some games in shop, syphon filter,tombraider...... nerly all game that reqiure 2.60. pls help, i use the internet kafe and have little time to get isos plus i dont know how.

IN DEVHOOK40 THERE ARE THE FLASH FOLDERS WITH 1.50,2.00,2.50. IS THERE FOR 2.60. i mean its great to have the browser an all but the new games need 2.60, im a newbie and im startin to understand but there are much more inteligent hackers that are into it and this is our problem now and we need help.. thanks

well man i aint no hacker but in the readme for devhook it says
"note:
FW 1.51,1.52,2.01,2.60,2.70 are no try."
but i think some other people on here( the more experienced lol )
have got tomb raider etc. running. browse the threads and pm people.

The Europeon tomb raider is confirmed working (just search on this site and you'll come across one that will tell you how.) I'm not quite sure about the american version however. Also, syphon filter is working but has a few bugs and problems. Again, search the site (I'm too lazy right now). It is also easier if you dump your own isos because you don't come across viruses and have less of a chance of bricking your psp. Sorry for the long post but I hope this helped with all of your problems.

Devhook is completely capable of playing upto 2.60 FW required games, just takes some patching in most cases.

Juat swap them, decrypting them usually results in the loss of music and annoying little things like that. Just ask and ill help you out:D

thanks man, its syphonfilter the game that i want, ill get the umd and dump it, open it with WinRAR, exchange the prx files with working ones and rebuild psp-game and umddata.bin with vcdromx, from fcd to iso and put in my ms. well thats how i think its done im not sure. anyway thanks man.

I'm having all kinds of problems with Cell, even after reading that entire thread a 100 times on ps2nfo, I think its the size of my iso, plus the ripkit doesn't work for me... and yes its Syphon Filter that oliver is referring too ... lol

I just downgraded my 2.5 to 1.5 so Im new to this...I have read everything tho for 7 months (ever since I had bought my psp) but I dint really understand everything...so I know this is probly sumting easy but plz every1 answer my questions and I bet u I will catch up to the average knowledge in a day or 2...
Questions:
I know there is a need of using loaders to load game backups (iso of games) but my question is
1. How do I dump my original UMD's to my mem stick (NBA live 06) so that I can play it off my mem stick? (it only needs firmware 1.52 to run...I dont no if thats important..)
2.Which loader would u recommend and is it legal to download the .iso of games without owning the game to see if I like the game and if I do to buy the game?
I downloaded the .iso of GTA LCS since I couldn't decrypt the original UMD (the one I own) and it says to use MPH loader along with UMD emulator with a UMD inside and in my case that UMD is NBA Live 06..(I remember a while ago reading that it doesnt matter what UMD is in the UMD drive..)
3. so my question is how can I make my .iso of GTA LCS work?
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

1.Use fastloader, it allows you to dump UMDs
2.Best loaders out there are daxziso (use UMD Emu as its core, allows compression, extremely compatible) and devhook .41x (a god send for newer games) They are all legal.
3.For GTA, boot UMD Emu or Dax, choose the system menu boot option, pick GTA of course, and your psp will go back to the XMB. Next, boot MPH Gameloader and it will boot the iso you loaded in UMD Emu/Dax when you selected the system menu option.

ANybody know where to find a PPF Patch for Dogs: Happy Life?
Edit, hey i had a patch for Lemmings, it is a sound.ppf patch. Is this patch lemmings spaecific, or is a ppf patch universal.

Its game specicfic. If it were a general patch, all game would work flawlessly.
As for Dog Happy Life or whatever, I have yet to see a patch for it. Have you tried the usual prx swaps?

the ppf patch pretty much decrypts the prxs....Its the lazy mans version of swapping prx's lol. As far as i know, Dogs Happy Life botos untouched on devhook.....saw a few posts on ps2nfo sayng that.

Why dont you just open dev hook in 1.5 with your game inserted and then just load the UMD via dev hook using the 2.7 firmware emulation ?
That works for every new game and I use it for all my new firmware games.
Easy as that
